Actually, Rich, you are on 12 right now, as am I (it would be 13 but there is no K leaderboard for some reason). However, what matters more is that your appearances average higher up than mine, with my average position being approximately 5, yours being approximately 3.

not to mention Nick Warwick is batting .255 :ouch:

K's were intentionally left off the leaderboard for a reason. We try to reward accumulation of the good stats, not the bad. I thought about adding it, but everything fits into the space as it is. Although, I'm curious about some ROE and HIDP leaders.

PS: HIDP totals are still incorrect. Those will be fixed tonight.

im sorta in favor of having roes on the leader board as it appears in be something im really good at

but seriosly i see them as semi important as you still end up on base

Well, that's the benefit of the Season Stats page. You can see where you stack up in ROE just by clicking on it. The leaderboards were a substitute until we could get the database online with sortable stats, but it's such a great item that it survived during the switch. In fact, designing the leaderboards gave me ideas which made the season stats load faster.

By the way, HIDP totals got overlooked last night when I accidentally erased the season stats page and had to fix the backup. I hope to have time tonight to work on it.

ROE is not that important of a stat. All it really reflects is the other team's fielding (which of course reflects our general level of defensive prowess).

Remember that an error is an error because it's a play that would otherwise have resulted in an out.

So being proud of ROE's is essentially the same thing as being proud of grounding out a lot.

Not to burst anyone's particular bubble... I mean, it's a lot better than striking out....

I know: some people think that its a bummer, like, " those are all hits I'm not getting credit for."

Bah! FCs are different though, because that's often more of a reflection of a slow dude on base ahead of ya.

I don't know, Peter. If you ground into a FC, it would have most likely just been a groundout, if no one had been on base.

In fact, a FC is kind of the equivalent of "I was too fast to hit into a double play."

("an 'eff - cee'" or "a 'FC'" [pronounced "fielder's choice"]? I chose the latter.)

Fair enough. But I do think there are a large number of throws that wouldn't reach first, but a throw to second made the out happen.

That's a good point. The shorter distance could make the difference between being safe or out.
